{{Refer to page 59; reason lock plate will not go down enough to insert lock ring.  In working on my column, I found that the upper race was not seating. By removing the upper housing and then trying to push down the lock plate, I saw that the upper race is driven into place by the preload cup.  The fingers of the preload cup need to fit over the top of the machined surface of the shaft.  The fingers do not fit inside the race so much as they rest on the top rim of the race (p 56).  A bit of lube on the shaft encouraged everything to slip into place during the final assembly.

::::Yeah- there's a glitch of some sort, it's been reported. For now, ignore the thumbnail and scroll down to where you see the date and time in the info table, it's right below the heading "Date/Time". Click on the date/time and that'll bring up the photo. Click on the photo and that will bring up the photo in its own window. Then you can copy the photo address from the address bar.


Used the "test page", and was able to get *.jpg uploaded.  Then got the pic to open up as explained above. <br />  
Copied the info in the address bar (Firefox) and pasted that into this thread; <br />  But it's only a link.
