If you lose your keys or buy a car with no keys you can hire a locksmith or change the lock yourself. ==General Motors== ===Remove Center=== [[Image:Steeringwheelcenter.jpg]] ===Remove Nut=== [[Image:Steeringsocket.jpg]] ===Pull Wheel=== [[Image:Pullwheel.jpg]] Use a puller to remove the steering wheel. They usually come right off but occasionally you run into a stubborn one. A light tap with a hammer on the end of the puller will jar those loose. [[Image:Wheelpulled.jpg]] ===Remove column Lock=== [[Image:Removecolumnlock.jpg]] This part requires using a special tool that pushes in on the column lock plate so you can remove the clip. I have done this without the tool but the tool makes this operation quite a bit easier. Removing the little spring wire clip is always the most aggravating part of changing the lock. [[Image:Columnlockoff.jpg]] ===Remove Emergency Flasher Switch=== [[Image:Emergflash.jpg]] Remove out the Phillips screw in the center of the switch. ===Loosen Turn Signal=== [[Image:turnsignal.jpg]] Remove the Phillips screw holding the clip that holds the turn signal lever. Remove the three Phillips screws that hold the switch. Gently pull out to loosen. ===Pull Lockset=== [[Image:Buzzswitch.jpg]] Remove the buzzer switch. [[Image:Removesetscrew.jpg]] Remove the set screw. [[Image:Removelock.jpg]] [[Image:Removelock2.jpg]] Remove the switch. ===Install New Lock=== Just reverse the process. ==Chrysler== ==Ford== ==Others==
