I have a 1970 chevelle that i recenty put a 454 in, it was a 350 before and i used my small block clutch and flywheel on the 454 because yhe cluch i had was not that old so i decided to re use it. now i have got a problem with an engine vibration between 1800 2900 rpm, is this due to the small block flywheel/clutch combo? '''The 454 engine ''' requires a flywheel with a weight at one spot on it. The small block flywheel for 350 engine is neutral balanced , will not work on the 454 correctly. They also make two different flywheels for the 454 a light weight and a heavy weight.most people run the heavy weight sometimes the light flywheel people has found will have a slight vibration in it. depending what year your 454. But either one will bolt up. Pioneer makes an add on weight plate to fix the problem. I know it works on auto trans, not sure of Manual trans fit. Had a friend do the same thing years ago. Made a great paint shaker.
