This is a good article,I don't profess to be an expert on automotive insulation products but would like to share my thoughts.I'm 73 years old and have used all of the commercial products over the years.The last 4 years I have used LIZARDSKIN on all jobs I've done.You are correct on price of LIZARDSKIN,butif you look at the complete picture,you need to include labor cost also,if you are doing this for a customer.If I'mreplacing floor pans as an example,I don't need SEAMSEALER (not cheap)I usually use 3 coats (20 mils per coat)I can do inside a pickup in no more than 20 mins. per coat (the cab).This seals out both water and dust.My personal ride is a 39 LASALLE coupe.Isprayed complete inside and under floor and fenders (helps with problem of stars in paint)I dont have the interior in it as yet,but drove it to 2011 SEMA show.(2500 miles)At 70 mph I can listen to my radio.My advice to anyone is.Talk to someone that has used the product your interested in.Call the seller and ask for contact info. on their other customers.If they wont share that info go to one that will.I find if a person likes a product of any kind,they don't mind talking about it. :Thanks Larry, lots of good advice in there. Specifically, I think you're correct about the need to include labor cost when estimating the total cost of applying ceramic insulation products.
