There are no "splines" associated w/the pumping portion of the TH2004R, or TH700R4 through 4L70E pumps. These pumps use '''''vanes''''', in varying numbers depending on the transmission and year, to provide pump output. <br style="clear:both"/>

"Gerotor"-type pumps, as used in the TH350/400 and 4L80 transmissions, could be described as having "splines that rotate on a circle off center" but this is not the case w/the TH700R4-types. <br style="clear:both"/>

There are basically three factory TH700R4 pumps: the early small input shaft-type uses a 7-vane pump; the 1984-'96 large input shaft-type uses a 10-vane pump (c/n 732); 1997-up uses a 13-vane pump.<br>
