CBD has been proven to be a very popular natural remedy for sleep problems. For the many people who have issues with sleeplessness, especially if it is because of pain, CBD provides a healthy alternative to pharmaceutical pain killers. So how does CBD work? CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD is what gives the plant its many therapeutic effects. Scientists have identified at least 133 other active cannabinoids found in these plants, CBD being the most abundant cannabinoid. CBD has become popular as an ingredient in food supplements due to its many roles in regulating our bodies wellbeing. CBD on its own can’t get you ‘high’ and has no psychoactive properties whatsoever. So how does CBD work on the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in the body? Only discovered in 1992 by scientists, ECS is a system within our bodies that works hard to regulate health and maintain homeostasis. It is thought to keep all other systems in our body in balance including: Immune functions, pain response, inflammation, mood control, sleep and memory. However, many external reasons during our busy, stressful, anxious everyday lives can cause our ECS to become less efficient. This can lead to what scientists call an endocannabinoid deficiency, where the body can become ‘less-balanced’ and illness can occur. This is where CBD comes in to help with sleep… It has been recorded that CBD can also limit inflammation in the brain and nervous system, which may benefit people experiencing pain, insomnia and certain immune-system responses. Specifically CBD helps reduce pain-induced sleeplessness by working on the symptoms themselves rather than using the more usually prescribed sleeping pill. Additionally there are advantages of using CBD rather than sleeping pills which can be addictive. The World Health Organisation recently stated that: ‘CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.’ Be aware of what actually causes sleep problems? anxiety and depression some medication chronic pain caffeine environmental factors, such as loud noises or an uncomfortable bed If you suffer from sleeplessness or insomnia and want to try CBD please contact info@cbdtalisman.com or www.cbdtalisman.com
