{{Note1}}{{Sign2}} {{Refer to page 59; reason lock plate will not go down enough to insert lock ring. In working on my column, I found that the upper race was not seating. By removing the upper housing and then trying to push down the lock plate, I saw that the upper race is driven into place by the preload cup. The fingers of the preload cup need to fit over the top of the machined surface of the shaft. The fingers do not fit inside the race so much as they rest on the top rim of the race (p 56). A bit of lube on the shaft encouraged everything to slip into place during the final assembly. Jazzman, thanks for your comprehensive guide; it provided the clear, detailed instructions I needed for changing the frozen lock cylinder and tightening the "star bolts" in the lower housing.}} {{--[[User:Ltay100|Ltay100]] 00:47, 6 September 2015 (MDT)}}
