Suggestions for cleaning engine blocks:

*Oven Cleaner is great for cleaning of old parts (do not use on aluminum)
*Nothing with oil base in it.
*Wire brush it with a good paint cleaner degreaser.
*Brake parts cleaner.
*Soap and hot water (pressure washer and liquid dishwashing soap).
*Diesel fuel.
*Laundry detergent.
*Use ATF fluid on a lint-free cloth to clean/lubricate cylinder bores prior to installing pistons and rods.

*Barbecue lighter fluid.

Can dry it with an air blow-off tool.
