Always do your research.  Pay close attention to the website. A website can be a great way to better understand the vision and goals of a studio. Does the website give you insight into the studio's educational integrity? Are they direct and meaningful as opposed to just including filler that sounds great but really doesn't mean very much at all?  Does the site brag continuously about their teachers?  Or does the student seem to be their primary concern?  Who at the studio attends your meeting?  Is a purchase a necessary prerequisite to obtaining an interview? Make sure that you are able to answer all of these questions completely before applying to a school.  The student should be the primary focus of any qualified studio. 

2. Schedule a Studio Visit  
Seeing the studio for yourself will help you obtain a better understanding of the school and it's Meisner intensive program as well.  Did the site present a honest picture of the facility?  Was the staff friendly?  Did everyone go out of their way to help you and answer your questions?  Did the studio feel stuffy and overbearing or was it open and friendly? Is effort clearly spent making the studio look and feel attractive to students? Were you gladly given a tour?  Did you feel as if the environment was conducive to productive learning?  

3. Receive Recommendations From Trusted Professionals in Your Field 
You can receive great recommendations from others who have attended similar programs. The true value of a studio is not based on expensive advertisements or empty promises of fame.  Word-of-mouth reviews, on the other hand, are an excellent resource.  You will want to seek out reviews from those who are true professionals.  

One summer session is not going to equip you with all of the acting skills you need to succeed. However, there is no denying that a summer program can be highly beneficial to any acting career.
