As Spring draws closer, many brand-new tree planting programs have been announced throughout the US and UK, with local groups and associations endeavoring to help the hard hit environment. As part of its commitment to being a Tree City USA, the City of Suwanee will plant elm or oak trees behind the Municipal Court/Crossroads Center at 323 Buford Highway on March 28. Burr Park, 1501 Asp Ave. The tree planting will follow the picnic blanket lunch on the grounds of the Duck Pond. It was reported that throughout the picnic blanket lunch, President David Boren will be talking about the value of Arbor Day and the custom of tree planting at OU. As part of the festivities, OU staff members will be acknowledged for their contributions, and campus groups will be honored by First Lady Molly Shi Boren for upkeep of their embraced region.
