Sure, you can start by advancing the cam 4-12 degrees. In a carbed engine, that same cam will be recommended to open at 18*BTDC. That's about 12 degrees advanced. I went 4* and found some decent torque. My next move will be another 4*. That cam is a decent 251/264 duration and 432/432" lift. Remember to also move the distributor to reflect this because advancing the cam moves the ignition timing and you have to re-align it to get the full range again. MSD also makes decent coils. I found no gain with MSD 6TN box but the wires would also be recommended. The headers ended up being physically intrusive on my upper control arm bushings so I didn't use them. The earlier cast iron manifolds are larger inside and have decent flow. Also a PCV filter would help. That would be an air line filter installed backwards in flow and filters out some huge amount of crap. Empty it every tank full in the winter. I also used Halo plugs, 3" single exhaust with 2" head pipe. Original head pipe was 1-7/8". Magna flow cat and a FloPro muffler. I can also turn the tires sitting still at 1600rpm on regular fuel. That would be a start!
