{{Sign1}} Actually Ford and Studebaker offered Borg-Warner units first in 1951 models, last versions were used up to 71 as FMX transmission by Ford. AMC used Borg-Warner M-40 aluminum as light duty automatic mid-60's transmission was also used by Volvo, British Leiland, and other international auto manufacturers. Like the BW cast iron unit it had a bolt on bellhousing.
