==Loss of pressure w/o rear plug==
What is known- for sure and without a doubt- is the plug '''''should be installed''''' if the oil filter is to be used in the normal way.

So instead of worrying about whether there will be any loss of oil pressure if the plug is omitted, just be sure to install the plug- correctly. Then the plug will not be an issue, period. If it's unsure if the plug has been installed, and installed correctly, see the [http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/Oiling_system_Chevy_V8#Checking_block_for_plug text and drawings on measuring for it] by using a length of brazing rod or similar material.--[[User:Cobalt327|Cobalt327]]

Filters:
*K&N HP3002
*Wix 51061 
*NAPA Gold 1061
*NAPA number for a 2 quart is 1794
Chev just use the Wix 2 qt truck filter Wix 2 qt filter, part # 51794.

Fram PH373 or Purolater L40084 are 2 qt filters

Wix made filter, CARQUST 85061, NAPA 1061 etc.  

I like the 85061 vs the 85060 as there is less restriction at the filter base as there is no check valve under the base, which is not needed when mounted vertically.
