Line 1: Line 1:
The 60's ford headlight switch Is retained to the instrument panel with a special bezel nut.  First pull the headlight switch knob out to the headlight on position. Reach up around the instrument panel to the switch opposite where the wire harness connects .There is a release button about the size of a pencil eraser. push it in and wiggle the switch knob in and out to get it to release. Then pull the Knob-shaft all the way out.  The retaining nut has either 2 or 4 recesses like a Philips screw. Usually a flat blade screw driver the right width will work to unscrew the nut. Unclip the harness and install your new switch with the special bezel nut. When you reinstall the Knob-shaft YOU MUST PUSH IN THE RELEASE BUTTON. if you just jam it in you will break the ceramic dash lit dimmer pieces.
