Has anyone swapped a full frame for the original frame on 46-48 Chevys? It looks like a Chevrolet Caprice in the years 77-90 (same wheelbase, just a little difference in the tracking) would work but I haven't tried it, just want to know if anyone has and what problems you had. | Has anyone swapped a full frame for the original frame on 46-48 Chevys? The Caprice may be a little too wide and look awkward on the far-narrower early Stovebolt. A better match may be had with the frame from a G-body GM, like the '78-'86 Monte Carlo, Cutlass Supreme, El Camino, etc. | The Caprice may be a little too wide and look awkward on the far-narrower early Stovebolt. + | I made my own chassis for my 46 fleetmaster using the front clip from a '74 camaro and the mid and rear sections of a '77 Malibu, I welded together both sections to the correct wheelbase.

+ | This new chassis adapts nicely to the body and gives adequate room for the floor, of course new body mounts are needed because none match.

+ | The track is slightly wider than the original but I have the fenders widened already, I want a "fat" look.

+ | I'll post some pictures as soon as I find the way to do it.
