It might be a synthetic or manmade setting although the setting is made as actual as possible. It is still synthetic. And there is a mood in the video too! The state of mind is produced with the scenographic mix, which is the mix of setting and costume or dress. Whatever about the complexities of costume, there are the complexities in setting too. For example, the setting has time and space. It might be at night or afternoon. Perhaps the time doesn't matter but let us take a look at a video as an example where the time is very important. This is Marc Almond and Gene Pitney's 1980s tune 'Something's obtained my heart'.

Nevertheless, what matters is that Marc Almond then gets in behind the limousine; this limo, which has a theatre-red color about it, and this limousine attracts us too. Its color is trendy and edgy. Against the rainy side street, the 'red' offers a function to the opening scenes. For it is not simply the limo that attracts us.
