− | I have a new battery new positive & negative cables to the starter, brand new GM starter and STILL the car starts erratically! It "Clicks" intermittently when I start the car, (50% or more of the time three or four clicks) then it fires up.

− | I think shims are the way to go, but dont know how many shims or how far out the starter has to be positioned?
| + | |
− | I have been told that the way to check this is to clip a wire to the starter and the positive terminal on the battery, look through the small inspection plate and have the starter STOP on the flex plate around halfway along the Bendix THEN shim it to ensure that it stays in that position - can anyone help? the motor is a '69 Vette rodded in a 32 Ford Model B.
