You've got a list of things you need to do to get your home ready for showing. You can't believe you've got dozens upon dozens of things to do. If it's not possible for you to do everything on the list, you can simply focus on the most important things. In real estate, there's what you call the "curb appeal" concept and you may have heard of this before. If your home exterior has curb appeal, you increase your chances of selling your home.

Inside your house, most buyers would look at your kitchen and expect it to look in great condition. Of course, everything inside and outside your house is important, but there are some parts of the house that are more important than the others when it comes to home showing.

Try not to pack your basement, garage, or attic with too much of your "stuff". If you do, you'll make it hard for people to walk around any of these rooms. A cramped room is something that can turn a prospective buyer off. If you have decades of accumulated boxes and things, rent a storage unit and get it out of your house. Then just clean up those areas very well so they are looking very good. If you've got a half-finished basement, you can place lights strategically in some corners. You want the lights to be on when you're showing because it will make the area look more appealing.

Your garage floor and driveway need to be in good condition, without any obvious stains or damage. If you do have large cracks or those that are long, then they can be quickly taken care of. This is something you can yourself. Just head over to your local home improvement store and get a bag of ready-mix concrete for filling the cracks. This is not a difficult project to do and won't take you more than a few hours. If there are oil stains on your driveway and garage floor, scrub them clean. Use a good oil stain remover, which you can get at any home improvement store.

Stove ventilation fans that are greasy and dirty can be a turn off. You know what this is about because it's only natural for it to accumulate there, so use a good degreaser cleaner on the stove and the vent hood to remove all that old, smelly grease. The kitchen is one of the more important rooms. If you have a family looking at your home, you need to make sure your kitchen creates a good impression on them. In general, prospective buyers look at the kitchen first before looking at the rest of the house. If you have the budget, you can do many things to improve the kitchen. It's most important, however, that it is clean and smelling nice at all times.

Your home's front exterior needs as much care as your interior when you're getting your home all prepared for a home showing. Go all out on making sure the front exterior is the best it can be. Remember that before your buyer sees the inside of your home, it's the outside that they'll see first. Your home's curb appeal is what will make potential buyers want to step inside your home and hopefully make an offer.
