+Best time to clean them off is early in the morning when the dew has soften them up.
+You might need a scraper or sharp single edge razor blade.{smooth out the razor blade on the polished corner of the door window to remove any burrs that might scratch you windshield.
+Vaseline can be used on any are other than the windshield to keep the critters from sticking.
+Some  Fla rest areas have wash stations that come on automatically when you pull up.
